This Is Me

Where to start?
I've been overwhelmed by the response to my last post.
Honestly I just don't have the words.
So thank you. All of you. Thank you.
And hello and welcome to new followers. You are very welcome here.

I've been thinking about my posts on here, and how I portray and express myself. My blog was never intended to be a platform for a business or a site with sponsored posts. It was never going to be a place where I shared crafty loveliness, or cooking prowess. It was always going to be a personal place for me to write about whatever I wanted to on that particular day. Some of the posts are planned. Some of them are processed on the page. Some of them are entirely spontaneous.

I follow a lot of blogs. Some for the recipes. Some for the product placement. Some for the craft ideas and loveliness. Some for the beautiful words and photographs. But the ones that I find myself looking forward to reading the most, are the ones that spoke to me when I first came across them. Some of these blogs have come to mean a great deal to me, as have the people that write them.

Those blogs are full of them. And I love that. I love to how their blogs reveal layers of the person behind it. I love how over time a relationship is formed with that person, and a friendship develops. I'm always struck by the bravery of someone putting themselves out there. My time as a counsellor gave me a privileged insight into the thoughts and feelings of my clients. It was never ever taken for granted, and nor did it cease to be fascinating and humbling. As they peeled back their layers, I never forgot how brave it was to trust another person and to reveal what was on the inside.

So this is me. This is my blog. It's where I share. The big and the small. The important and mundane. The happy and the sad. Those moments of doubt and self loathing. The times when I feel scared and alone. And when I am on top of the world happy too.

Thank you for reading it. And thank you for being so sincere and gorgeous.

Leanne xx

  2. I am sure that when you read a blog regularly you feel as though you know the author, and you can tell the ones that are false. I am lucky to have found a heap of real and interesting people to know.

  4. I look forward to every single post you put up, Leanne. What you said about some blogs and bloggers coming to mean a lot to you is exactly how I feel about you and your blog.

  5. Beautifully put Leanne. I wonder about blogging a lot sometimes, what to reveal, what I enjoy in other blogs, why I like the ones I do, and why I blog myself. Yours is a blog I have loved ever since I discovered it. You've kept it very honest and authentic, and it feels as though you are talking to me as a friend. You have made me care about what happens to you, and that is what draws me to your blog again and again. I identify a lot with your journey, and I find your posts full of inspiration and encouragement. Thank you for your lovely blog, for taking the time and effort to write it and for sharing your life. I do so look forward to reading all that you write. CJ xx

  6. Authenticity is what attracts me to a blog and to come back and be interested in what that person has to say. For me it is all very well enjoying the glammy lifestyle ones for some occasional inspiration but relentless joy and unfailing optimism is unrealistic. The real ones who tell it like it is are the ones that touch my soul.

  7. I love the upbeat vibe of this post but loved the honesty of your last post too (even though I didn't comment, I felt for you). You are describing so well the ups and downs of life, a happy busy family life but an ordinary one that has its downs too. Luckily blogging helps as an outlet for this. So glad to have your blog to read, however you're feeling. More of the same, please xoxo

  8. I really enjoy your blog. I wanted to comment today on your last post but could only reiterate things that had already been said. Your blog should be whatever you want it to be. I like how honest you are in your posts and the things you choose to share with us.

  9. I am glad to get to know you a little through your blog, whatever, however you write. You are you and I really like that, it is why I stop by and see what you have to say. Thank you for being open and honest and yourself! Keep going dear. xx

  10. I read this on my phone a days ago but am only now getting round to commenting, sorry. (I read a lot of blogs on my phone but find typing on it annoying, hence my usual feast or famine style of comment-leaving). Anyway, I want to echo what Jennifer said: I like you and I like your blog, very much. And I hope we can meet up when I'm in St Ives this summer? I'll send you a message on facebook. xx
