Weather With You

 Hey there.

Just popping in briefly to show you some quick snaps I took earlier. Olly and I took the dogs for our weekly walk over the towans. We couldn't get onto the beach, because the high Spring tides we are experiencing are lapping the cliff edge. The waves are massive out in the bay, and there is a boat that has been anchored for a couple of days. I've been watching it rolling from side to side, and feeling rather sorry for those on board. Although it must have been pretty wild out in the Atlantic for them too!

It's always hard to convey how huge the waves are, and how windy the weather is, but I've had a go. The sun is shining and the sky is mostly blue. The ground is saturated from all the rain, as ably demonstrated by Olly who slipped over several times, and was left with a rather muddy bottom. In the end we had to call time on the walk, but I think all of us had a good stomp, rabbit burrow inspection and whirly gig run.

We are all tucked up and cosy at home now. Olly is playing, and I am pottering and doing (ahem).

Leanne xx

  1. That looks very wild and wet and windy Leanne! Beautiful, and beautifully captured by you, but wild!! Lovely to see some blue though instead of the grey that seems to be all around. Thank you for the cheer. xx

  2. Such beautiful photos, the weather is wild indeed at the moment. We've had a few slippings over as well, on wet wood and wet grass and wet mud and, well, you get the picture. I hope you stay warm and dry at home and that those huge tides pass safely. CJ xx

  3. I know it's not always fun to have, but I do love watching the huge crashing waves. It does look pretty blustery out there - sounds like a perfect day for hot chocolate!

  6. Beautiful pictures can almost smell that sea air. We have several ships sheltering at anchor in Weymouth Bay too.

  7. Hi Leanne, I almost feel invigorated by that sea air in your photos. We are hoping to get to the east coast on sunday if the weather holds out.

  9. Hi Leanne and Happy New Year! We've not suffered too much with the Spring tides but the white horses have been amazing - huge, huge waves.

  10. I bet those waves are huge - you say they are lapping the cliff edge? That makes them seem rather high! It's scary this weather we're having. Gorgeous photos today, by the way.

Oh, and yes, the pillow cases are Orla. Rhododendron pattern, from John Lewis I think! :-) xx
