- I start each day with a cup of tea (Yorkshire Tea, white, no sugar, builder strength), followed by a cup of coffee (instant, no time for faffing), followed by another cup of tea. The first one I drink while it's hot. It's pot luck with the other two. I use three separate mugs.
- I have had a thing for Paul McGann ever since I watched The Monocled Mutineer when I was 14. When I was 16, I had to ask him to remove his foot from my coat which was on the floor of The Moon Club, a nightclub I used to frequent without my Dad's knowledge. I don't think I recovered until I was about 19.
- I volunteer at my local Junior school. I listen to the children read. I have stickers that say "I have read to Mrs Paxton." I love those stickers.
- The middle names of my boys are Edward (a family middle name), Weller (after Paul Weller) and Kit (I wanted Olly to be called Kit, but drew the short straw). I don't have a middle name. I may make one up for myself. Suggestions welcome.
- I used to live in Muswell Hill in London.
- My family call me Lea. My friends call me variously Len, Lenny, AnneLea and LouLou. Marc only calls me by my name when he is cross.
- The first words I said today were "Morning Olly Pops. How you diddling?" I think there may be something wrong with me.
- I had a new phone this weekend, and discovered Instagram. It's too good. My username is oliverkit4, if you'd like to say hello.
- I just asked Marc for a random fact about me. He said "You shout a lot." I would disagree with this fact. I only shout when all other options have been explored.
- When I was 10, I became the fastest girl in my school when I beat Sarah Nichols at sports day. Victory never tasted so sweet.
Leanne xx
Love your random things. Name/where to follow you on IG - please share - it's the biz, enjoy xo
ReplyDeleteI used to pass Paul McGann in the street every so often where I used to live, as well as one of his brothers I think. I could never remember which one was which. I love your nicknames. We're very big on nicknames here. Well done for beating Sarah Nicholls Leanne, I'm proud of you. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteYou're on Instagram, oh hooray, hooray! I just went and "found" you. I love instagram. It's nothing like blogging but it's a whole lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteLove your list. I shout a lot too. The kids don't even blink now. Your morning hot drink ritual is just weird. I need some stickers like that for reading - mine are ones I nicked from Angus that have dinosaurs on them. And I think your middle name should be Fabulous, obviously! xx
These are totally sweet and brilliant random things. I'm loving reading everyone's as it makes the bloggers I've been reading for a while seem even more like friends when you know their little quirks. Lol-ing at your tea/coffee/tea caper in the morning and still a bit baffled by it. However, I wander about like a stunned womble in the morning incapable of coordinating myself to get a cuppa so I am in no position to say much. If you want a special middle name you could convert to Catholicism then you'd get a confirmation name! Bit extreme adopting a whole belief system but if you want an extra name endorsed by a higher power well its the way to go.....! Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to know each of these things about you. I yell a fair amount myself. I drink strong Irish Breakfast tea every morning. I have a middle name but it's a made-up feminized version of my father's middle name. Okay, it's Allyn. Said like Allan, which is his middle name. My husband and I virtually never use each other's first name when speaking to each other, which confuses people who don't know us well because they don't know who we're talking to! I should get some of those stickers for when I force children to sew or paint with me at school...I was enslaved into creativity by Mrs. Hays.
ReplyDeleteOooo I love how you mix your Teas with your Coffees - such a rebel! I stay with the strong stuff but enjoy a nice cup of tea before bedtime. And now I know why you are called Oliverkit4 on IG - I was wondering!!! I have to resort to yelling too sometimes, but as I keep explaining if everyone just did what I wanted the first time there'd be no need :-) Mel x
ReplyDeleteoh how I love random things! we made up native american names for each other when my son was studying them at school, the children chose "mummy nag nag" for me. choosing your own name is the way to go1
ReplyDeleteLove these random facts Leanne! Your morning hot drink routine makes me shiver and I never drink instant coffee. I shout plenty, too but only when all other options have been explored :) There is most definitely nothing wrong with you! x
ReplyDeleteI love your random facts :) I shout a lot too and have overused phrases such as "Please put your shoes on", "Leave her alone please", " Please talk in a quiet voice"!! SOmetimes I shout even when other options haven't been fully explored! I love instagram too!
ReplyDeleteFun post Leanne! I'm planning to do one today as well, as long as I can think of ten random things. My problem is trying to remember what random facts I've already talked about in previous posts. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your randoms of course Leanne - not telling you off using your full name!! I think that your middle name should be extraordinaire, gardener extraordinaire, mum extraordinaire, wife extraordinaire etc etc etc!! It has been lovely reading with you Mrs Paxton, do I get a sticker! xx
ReplyDeleteLove this post it made me chuckle (which I needed as I'm feeling gloomy about Cleo's eyes). The first thing I said this morning (apart from hello to my husband) was 'have you checked Cleo yet and is she upside-down?' which is also probably a strange first-thing to say, but on the other hand accurately conveys normal life in our house.... xx
ReplyDeletePS I think your middle name should be something exotic like Emerald, or old fashioned like Tabitha. I love old fashioned names, which is why having chickens was so good because you can call them things like Mavis and it works :-)
ReplyDeleteTotally brilliant list! (And thank you for the link).
ReplyDeleteI wanted my youngest to be a Kit, but we settled on Philip to be shortened to Pip, unfortunately he just isn't a Pip and from birth he's been known as Philip, Phil or PJ (his middle name is John). I don't like Philip or Phil and really wish I'd pushed harder for Kit.
Paul Weller has a daughter called Leah ... Leanne Leah ... that would keep up the theme ;)
