Some Mothers...

So I really should be in bed asleep/reading, but I just wanted to share a couple of gems from my day.

Olly and I walked the dogs, and he did the obligatory stripping off and running into the sea routine. Only this time he did a "circular wee". That's to say he took hold of the old chap, and spun around all the while.... it was quite spectacular.

Alfie tried to convince me he was too ill for school today. I caught him trying to heat up his forehead with my hair dryer. Needless to say I waved him off from the doorway.

At 9.45pm this evening, I had a conversation with Sam that went a little like this:

Sam: "Oh Mum, I need a black shirt for tomorrow."
Me: "Tomorrow?"
Sam: "Yeah, that's what I just said."
Me: "What do you need it for?"
Sam: "My practical Drama exam."
Me: "How long have you known about this?"
Sam: "Oh couple of months."
Me: "Well it's a bit late in the day to be asking for one now."
Sam: "Can't you find one?"
Me: "I usually need a minimum of 24 hours notice for that kind of request"
(Okay a bit sarcastic. But, you know, really Sam?)
Sam: "God you think you're so funny." Flounces off to bedroom.

And that was Tuesday!

(Oh and Olly also did pretend baking)

  1. I remember every nuance of that conversation. I think ours was along the lines of " Do you know anything about stone circles on Dartmoor" Just before bedtime when course work was due the next morning!
Love the baking and the hairdryer shows resourcefulness -- And circular Golden rain. Well you cant be bored can you?

  2. So funny! The circular wee...oh, I've got that to look forward to.

My two love to sit on the kitchen floor and do play cooking with dry pasta shells, muffins tins and paper muffin cases. No glitter though! :-)
