In no particular order
Hello lovelies.
I have given up Facebook for Lent.
The Co-op is selling huge bars of Fruit and Nut for £1.50.
After ten years we finally have a larger piece of glass for our dining table. Having all six of my dining chairs around it makes me very happy.
My eldest bought himself some new clothes. All by himself. With his own money. I never thought I'd see the day.
There is Lego everywhere. I cannot stand it.
Ditto crafty stuff.
I finally got the screen of my mobile phone fixed. It only took three months. Why do I always take so long to get anything done?
I got the wobbles over half term, but am feeling brighter today.
Wolf Hall is stupendous.
I heard this song on the radio while driving back from Bristol. It made me cry.
I'm thinking of getting some photographs of myself taken. Is that vain?
It's just that I'd like to feel good about myself before I touch down at forty five.
Yikes....forty five.
In my head I'm still seventeen.
My amnesia is playing havoc.
I have read a lot this month because of it.
Cup of tea and bed.
Nighty night lovelies.
Leanne xx

What a lovely collection of random photos and thoughts. I love the picture of Olly doing a bit of drawing. We're all enjoying Wolf Hall too! x
ReplyDeleteMorning Leanne. Beautiful photos and musings - bright and breezy!
ReplyDeleteI think the wobbles at half term is perfectly understandable. glad you feeling better now x and go for it with the photographs, lovely idea x
ReplyDeleteSorry - I heard nothing after big bars of Fruit and Nut for £1.50! No really, love the photo's thanks, and no it is not vain to have photos taken, it is a nice idea. I always look back at the very few photo's I have of myself and think, I wasn't as fat/spotty/ugly as I thought I was at the time. And yet I still judge myself very harshly today....
ReplyDeleteI bought a large bar of Whole nut earlier on from my village post office £1.20. A set of photos of yourself is a wonderful idea, I'm terribly un photogenic so I often think of having the same done. Take care xx
ReplyDelete:) I think all mums should have more photos taken of themselves. We spend too much time taking happy photos of everyone else, it's easy to forget we were ever there - in my opinion! x
ReplyDeleteWhat delights await at "Crab Rock"?
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely have some pictures taken if that is what you want to do!! Nothing wrong in that. After all if Son No. 1 is out buying his own clothes, surely Mum can be out having her own photo taken!! xx
ReplyDeleteI will hold on to the clothes buying whenever I despair of my sleepy grungy teen!
ReplyDeleteYes, defo go for the pics, it's a great idea xx
I have to admit I do not like birthdays that end in a 5, I always feel I'm neither early or late of a number. Right now I am in my early 50's but in three years will come that one that ends with a 5 and then I won't feel one or the other all over again. Next biggy for me will be 60 and for some bizarre reason I don't mind those that end in 0. Lovely photo's as always and of course you are entitled to have some photo's taken nothing wrong in that at all. I agree with Sara J too most of the time it is us mum's that are the other side of the camera and we end up of lots of family photo's and we don't appear in any of them.
ReplyDeleteLove, LOVE that snowdrop pic.
ReplyDeleteWhy not have some photographs taken ... celebrate who you are, now, today, warts or no warts and all.
Great list. I love Nirvana. Get those pictures done :) xxx
ReplyDeleteJust spent far too long listening to Nirvana. No fruit and nut for me until after Lent. Yes, yes, yes to the photos, do it, you will always treasure them and they will be lovely for the boys to have. I'd really like some of me with the children, just snaps, but you know, some pictures with me actually in them. Me and each boy and me and all boys. I'm waiting for a good hair day. I must watch Wolf Hall, everyone seems to love it. Enjoy the fruit and nut (I'm assuming you did get yourself some, after all you do deserve it). CJ xx
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of the door. It's one of the things that is so striking when I'm in the UK. People have interesting doors. Here they tend to be run-of-the-mill, with no real personality. As for Lego, the real problem with it being scattered all over is stepping on it. I don't know how a little piece of plastic can cause so much pain. Have a great week Leanne!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THAT SONG. Come sit next to me and listen to it on repeat like it's 1991. I think you should have photos taken of yourself. You are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes to the photos - I'd like some nice ones of me but always look slightly freaked out in pictures. And I love photo of your little boy at the table. Great light.
ReplyDeleteI'm 40 in May and trying to 'embrace' it. To be honest, I still feel like a teenager too. But no longer sit in the park drinking cider. Sadly.
I could really do with a bar of proper chocolate right now. Not the super-dark 70% cocoa solids grown-up stuff in the fridge. Something creamy and bad.
S x
Hi Leanne. I love this collection of randoms, just like life. I have not given up anything for lent. Life is hard enough without adding more to it. I am still a teenager at heart but my children tell me otherwise. Would love to be 18 for a couple of weeks a year, with all the carefree madness that this might bring. Yes, yes, yes to the photos. What a good idea! I am also 45 this year, we should throw a party! Christina xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm recovering from half term too, it was lovely but there's only so much loudness, diplomacy and 'cannonballing' (this is the youngest boy running at full tilt into my chest/ legs/ head) I can take in a week. So I'm taking it easy with a pub quiz, friends and a glass of wine, which I reckon we should do too, Antonia x
ReplyDeleteI love your random thoughts and pictures! Sarah x
ReplyDeleteWhole nut too !
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent snowdrop photo although I personally have not set eyes on one yet this year.
ReplyDeleteI also adore that song and think that Unplugged might be my favourite Nirvana album.
You are knock-out gorgeous, get the photos done.
I am bulk buying creme eggs right now.
Come back to Facebook soon, I muss you!
Great post. Xx

Muss you?! MISS you! Duh.
ReplyDeleteLove that snowdrop photo too. Keep trying with Wolf Hall but keep falling asleep. Perhaps will do catch up during the day - as soon as I sit on the sofa in the evenings I start to nod off - definitely an age thing.
ReplyDeleteHi Leanne, have followed and enjoyed your blog for a long time ( I was the one who left a comment about jam making as was a bit concerned for you) I love the photo you look of the snowdrops in this post, it is just so pretty. I would really like to do a painting from this photo, but only of course with your permission. Let me know if you would be happy for me to do this, if not of course this is fine. Sorry to contact you via a comment, could not find a way of contacting you privately. Thanks Jane, do not have an url to give and only able to get it to work for anonymous (not very good with IT!)
