Right first things first. Yesterday's post was in no way meant to be a fishing exercise. I never fish. Well, that's not entirely true. I do fish sometimes, but it almost always involves me, Marc, a pair of jeans and my rear end. I'm not setting these posts up so that I get lots of platitudes. Not that I think any of you are the platitude type. If we lived nearer to each other, I'm sure you'd be the kind of people that I could have a brew, a chat and a giggle with. I'm sure you are the kind of people that are honest, straight and down to earth. In short, my kind of people.
So not fishing. Just processing on the page. As you do....

Last night I realised that I have been blogging for two years. My son suggested I blog initially, and I tentatively put up this post. For months I had maybe one or two comments at most, and very few hits. It didn't matter, because I was enjoying writing my posts and taking photographs. I loved the fact that this place was starting to feel like a diary of everyday adventures. It let me wax lyrical, and it let me waft through the day. It allowed me to vent my spleen and to give my inner self a voice. It became a friend.
And slowly, one by one, all of you popped up. You started following, and leaving comments. I can't tell you how chuffed I am that this happened. I still get terribly excited when I see that there are comments. Many of you have become friends too. Just because we don't actually meet up and have that brew and chin wag, doesn't mean I see you as anything less. It's so exciting to think that I may actually be meeting some of you this summer. I knew that living here would come in handy! It will be great to see you and hear your voices. I'd really like to invite you all over from wherever you live. That would be some party I think!
So I have a giveaway. To say thanks. Thanks for following. Thanks for commenting with words of friendship and support. Thanks for writing your lovely blogs. They inspire me all of the time. They make me ooh and aah. They make me laugh. And cry. And they let me know that life everywhere is full of normal and humdrum and little pieces of joy.
My lovely friend Sarah has just started her own business making jewellery. These are made from Fimo and I think they are rather fab. They expand, and I chose them because I love the colour blue and I love polka dots. And if they aren't your style, then you could always give them to your daughter or your friend or a stranger even. I don't mind. Like my friend Jennifer, they are given in friendship. A friendship bracelet from me to you.
Just leave a comment below, and I'll pick two names out of the hat next week. I'll toss a coin for who gets which colour. I can send them anywhere, so if you live in far off climes then please still enter.
Good luck!
Leanne xx

ReplyDeleteHi Leanne, have been reading your blog for just a few months and thoroughly enjoy it. Your ordinary ups and downs of life are so familiar and, trust me, so are your uncertainties and worries! Cornwall is beautiful - probably our favourite place to visit when we get to the UK.

HI Leanne, I'd love to be in your draw for one of your lovely giveaways.
ReplyDeleteHello, Think I am too late for your giveaway but that's ok. I just wanted to say Woohoo for 2 years of blogging. I am a relative newbie and the thought of blogging for 2 years seem impossible! Sometimes I have tons to say (and need to shut up) and then others (esp when I have no photos) I suddenly struggle to put finger to keyboard!
