Not Too Shabby For Rachel

Finally the day that I have longed for since God knows when arrived at my door. A glorious sunny Spring day from beginning to end. I could see the sun peeping through the curtains when I woke, and as I drank my first cup of tea, I watched our Blackbird catching the worm in the garden. And I just knew that today was going to be a Black Eyed Peas kind of a day.

It meant playing outside. Washing on the line. Gardening in earnest. Lunch al fresco. A dip in the tub.

The Lego was the toy of choice, and battles were played out in the borders. Olly and I pond dipped to see whether the frog spawn has spawned (it has). Beryl and Jean obviously enjoyed the sun too, judging by their squawks. And yes of course the boys squabbled over Halo figures and Nerf darts. And yes Olly got a telling off for pulling up a couple of my Tulips. And of course I still had to do the ironing, shopping, bathrooms and have tea ready by 5pm so the worker could get to his washing up duties on time. But it all went down rather easier with the sun warming my back.

Please tell me it's here for a while at least!

Leanne xx

(apologies for the smudge on the camera lens. It may have been mayonnaise...)

  2. I wish it had been that warm here, even the washing got wet hit by a passing shower. Sarah x

  3. Oh you lucky lady, I am ever so jealous. I was planting out my cistus in near gale force winds and intermittent heavy showers. The forecast looks good for you! Will keep my fingers crossed for you. Cx

  5. Oh it's beautiful isn't it. More is forecast today as well! Your garden is looking lovely, and how sweet that littlest boy is squeezed into his bowl. He's a happy little soul I think. Your sweet peas are looking good, I'm thinking of planting mine out - would it be madness? I'm always seduced by a bit of fine weather in April. We did gardening yesterday afternoon, and this morning it will be allotment and potatoes. Hope you chaps are enjoying the hols so far. CJ xx

  6. Lovely. I'm down south at mum's and it's definitely warmer than Leeds. I am always, genuinely, amazed at the power of the weather to improve my mood. I love a sunny day.

Ok, I have to ask...is that a Friends quote? X

    1. Hey Gillian,

Yes it is a Friends quote. I maintain that there is a Friends quote or scene for every occasion.

  13. You must have sent the good weather up to us in London because it was grey and cold yesterday but today was warm and sunny. I went out at 9am and didn't need a coat all day. Woo hoo! Smiles all round. Debating whether to go to Brighton or clean the house tomorrow if it's another jolly sunny day! x
