52 Weeks Of Happy - 46/52

Well hello there! Here are some happy things from my week. As always joining Jen and her lovely series

Super Powers

Apparently these are Olly's super powers. He has been rushing around the house with one arm outstretched for most of this week. He careers into the kitchen, touches each in turn, does a lot of twirls and jumps and rolling about and then rushes out again. I have to be careful when I open the cutlery drawer for fear of tearing them. I have no idea where this idea came from, but it makes me laugh and that's good enough for me.

Silly Pictures

I have had a lot of requests to take pictures of Alf and Olly together 'doing funny things.' They cavort around, and then look at the results. Exhibitionists the pair of them. I love this picture in particular. For all my frustrations with him, Alfie can really make me laugh sometimes. He has been taking Olly under his wing a lot, and playing with him or letting Olly play in his room while he hangs out too. I love that. Sam and Alfie rarely hang out together - they are just too different. And the robot? That's Buddy. We made him yesterday. He makes me smile too!

Painting & Decorating

A tiny peek into the upstairs bathroom,  David the painter and decorator's leg just visible. Finally, finally the whole of the upstairs is having a make over. Walls, woodwork, doors. You name it, it's being painted. I have new blinds, new duvets and lots of lovely re-arranging to look forward to. Sam's room will finally get the older teen make-over that we've been promising him for nearly a year (I hope to post about that soon). The bathroom will have new blinds and towels and toothbrush holders (courtesy of Ikea in a couple of weeks). The woodwork will no longer be a lovely shade of yellowing. There will be a new stair and landing carpet. Really. Really. Happy!!

......................................................

Thank you for your lovely comments on recent posts, especially those of you that have maybe stopped by or haven't commented before. It's one of the best things about blogging I think. That connection.

I feel a bit sheepish in the cold light of day. I am not a loud or brash person in everyday life. I have a dry sense of humour, and I can make people laugh. I am definitely an in the kitchen at parties girl. However I do love to arse about, and I'm not afraid to make a fool of myself, as was demonstrated so well on my last post....

So I'm glad that it made you smile, and that you got to see me in all my glory!!

  1. How exciting to have the whole upstairs redecorated at the same time - we do it piecemeal, here and there. It's all going to be so fresh and clean and gorgeous. I love the photo of Alf and Olly. They look like they love each other a lot. x

  4. Lovely happies Leanne. I completely understand the superpowers thing, we get similar stuff around here. I'll be interested to see how the teen bedroom turns out - I'm looking for inspiration, I have Things to do to bedrooms here. I shall be buying paint next week, if I can just find the time. Please don't feel sheepish for being fun and amusing Leanne, it makes you very likeable. Even if I have been singing "Working 9 to 5" all day... If there's a sequel can I request "Jolene" please?

  5. Me again...just wanted to let you know that I mailed you a package this morning. I did see your comment with your address and deleted it ASAP. I hope I wrote it correctly...I wasn't sure if you'd given me your last name or the name of your house but that's what I wrote and I hope it gets there very soon. :)

  8. Loving those super power pictures, they would go down very well in our superhero crazy household. Really cute pic of your boys, looking very cheeky indeed. I am so jealous that your upstairs is getting redecorated and I can't wait to see the end result. Enjoy your weekend xoxo
