A Decision

I've decided to take a little break from here for a while. A month or so maybe.

Any of you that visit regularly know about my on off relationship with depression, and all that it entails.

This time of year leading up to Christmas is usually quite difficult for me. Not for any particular reason.

I've been struggling on and off for a little while.

I need to channel what energy I do have into the children, my husband, the home and family.

I hate it.

How it makes me feel.

How it can make me behave.

How it can cloud my mind and my judgement.

How it makes me insecure and scared.

How it makes me feel weak and pathetic when there are people close to me dealing with much more arresting and immediate difficulties.

I love visiting you and reading all about you and yours. I love that you take the time to visit mine.

But sometimes it would be nice to be able to drop in for a cup of tea. You know, for real.

Does that make any sense?

I'll be back when my Robin starts singing again.

With love,

Leanne xx

  2. You wrap your yourself in some lovely snuggly cotton wool and remind yourself how wonderful you are. I had the old black dog with me most of the summer and have nothing but understanding for you (and a cup of tea if you're ever in my neck of the woods) xxxxxxxxxx

  3. One thing I know I say will sound trivial or trite, but I know depression is a very icky feeling. I hope the cloud lifts soon for you and the sun will shine brightly :)

  5. You have an open invitation to stop by my cottage for tea any time you come to British Columbia. In fact, you can come stay for a few days and have multiple cups of tea. Hugs...

  6. Hello lovely!! Well firstly I am going to miss you and if you weren't so bloody far away I would love to pop in for a cuppa, but hey ho. If you ever up in my neck of the woods then you know you HAVE to call in. I am sorry to hear that this time of the year is difficult for you and it is not uncommon as so many people who suffer from depression suffer so much more over the winter months. Not that it is any of my business but do you take additional vitamin D3 to boost your levels of vit D to support the absence of our little sunny friend? If not let me know and I can give you a super-duper link for a great product. Don't worry about comparing yourself and feeling bad because others are going through worse things, yours is yours and you have to live with it in which ever way you can manage. I am always just a message away if you fancy a chat and happy to talk on the phone if things every get bad (I know our relationship may seem superficial but it is there). I hope that you keep enjoying your walks and that you continue to draw strength from beautiful nature around you. Much love xoxo

  8. My mother and mother in law both suffered from depression so I know how difficult things can be. Take care of yourself, we will still be here for you when you are feeling a bit brighter.

  9. Oh honey I am so sorry things are not great for you right now. I know how hard it can be, and I am sure you are doing the right thing. Stay close to those who love you and look after yourself. I was just thinking the other day how nice it would be to meet you. If you are ever up this way, I would love for you to come and have a cup of tea. And there are always cookies too. I am thinking of you Leanne. I do hope things are easier soon. Look after you, love, CJ xxx

  12. Oh Leane - I feel sad that you're sad. I WISH I could have a real life cup of tea with you, and give you a hug. Virtual ones are good but real ones are better. I like what Hannapat said about phone calls - if you ever want to chat on the phone email me and we can swap numbers. And please don't be too hard on yourself. Take care my blogging friend. xx

  13. The most annoying thing about blogging is that you can't just pop over for a cup of tea. But know that I'm thinking of you and sending you a big hug from Down Under. Take good care of yourself and I look forward to catching up on all your news again soon. Mel xxx
