What we saw and what we did in Betty

Here we are in Betty, our beautiful Camper. We went to Godrevy for tea. Olly fell asleep. It started to rain. It was very windy. The boys didn't want to get out. Honey wanted to. So did I. Stomping around in the wind and rain reminds me of being a child. I have very fond memories of walking in the rain.

I saw a Kestrel!!! A real live Kestrel. Hovering an arms length away from me. I was so excited I took the most blurred picture ever. And then another not quite as good one. But I don't care. It was a magnificent sight, hovering in mid air over the cliffs around Godrevy. I am such a happy twitcher right now.

Those plants have to be pretty hardy to survive up there. Buffeted by wind and rain. Sprayed by the sea. Rather beautiful I think.

On the beach, Olly gambolled around like a baby goat. Jumping of rocks and skipping through puddles. Off came the hat. Off came the coat. Off came the fleecy hoody. He definitely has Celtic blood. The rain eased off, and it was sheltered down on the beach. You don't need the sunshine to have fun in Cornwall.

I was right. It has been a good weekend.
