A Visual Reminder

I may have gone overboard with pictures......

The thing is, it hasn't felt very Spring-like for many of us here in the UK. We've been bombarded by snow, bitter cold, freezing easterly winds, dull skies, rare glimpses of sunshine, concerns for our native wildlife, farming difficulties and the all round misery that accompanies the daily news reports of more bad weather to come.

All in all it's all been pretty grim.

Here in St Ives, we've been spared the worst of the weather. We have had some gorgeous Spring sunshine. And while is may not have been as warm as last year (when I was already wearing flip flops and linen) it has been nice. And bright enough to ditch the scarf and put on the sunglasses. Today was lovely. Town was seething with holidaymakers meandering through town and playing on the beaches.

I felt happy for all the little children who were able to play with their buckets and spades. When you live by the sea it can sometimes be taken for granted. One can forget that for many a visit to the coast is a yearly event. That was how it was for me as a child. I have not forgot the excitement of playing on the beach, eating ice cream and paddling in the sea.

And now Easter is upon us, the clocks go forward tonight and Spring is well on it's way. It is. Honestly. It's just around the corner. And if you look very carefully there are signs all around you. I've been snapping away this week with this in mind, and I thought I'd share them with you all. With a few random ones thrown in for good measure.

Have a lovely Easter. Here's to the wonderful Spring and Summer that is still to come!!

  1. Lovely pictures. I think spring has come earlier to you - it still feels pretty bleak and cold in Leeds! But you are right, it is coming and there is warmth in the sun, hurrah! x
