Big Skies

Big skies and empty beaches. Pale washed out colours of sea and shore. The sun low in the sky casting long shadows and causing our eyes to squint. A sharp smack to the air as scarves are wrapped tightly and hands plunge into pockets. Stomping over dunes and along vasts stretches of sand. Looking for flotsam and jetsom washed in by the tide. Nature spotting and collecting treasures from the shore. Tasting salt on your lips. Watching the gulls dive bomb for fish. Seeing the magic in the light as the afternoon merges into early evening.

  6. Oh I love Gwythian beach so much. We have spent our summer holidays here for the last 3 years ( camping at Gwithian Farm) and are booked to come back in August. I do envy you bring able to roam around at Winter though, I bet it's magical. Last year I cried when we had to leave :)

  7. Beautiful pictures and beautiful words Leanne. I do so love the winter light, especially at the coast, it's wonderful. I'm glad you had such a good walk, no doubt it was lovely to come home to a warm cosy house afterwards. Enjoy your week, CJ xx

  18. And that is basically why I bullied John into moving down south. Well, not bullied. Cajoled, coerced and persuaded. Poor man.

    Stunning photos. xx
