So this evening I was faffing about with a growing horde of pine cones that Olly and I have collected lately. In particular one little one, that Olly thought looked like a Christmas tree. It does. A perfect tree in miniature.
And then I had an idea. I cleared a space on the bookcase, grabbed some Blu Tac and just like that a miniature forest appeared. So this is the plan. Everyday throughout December I shall add something to the forest. A Bambiesque deer perhaps. Or a Moomin or two. A backdrop is in order. Maybe the forest will have snow one night. Or a ginger bread house will appear, as if by magic........
Of course it's all for Olly's benefit. Not mine.

I have taken down my earlier nature submission, as it was pointed out to me that I had inadvertently advised you all to go and poison yourselves. Obviously this was not my intention. I felt like an idiot this morning, but am chuckling to myself a little now. One slightly bruised ego still intact. I think I was on planet Z yesterday morning as I picked those berries......

I love this! Olly (and others) will enjoy it too. :)
ReplyDeleteOh it's lovely. Definitely a Moomin or two, I love Moomins so much. Such a happy beast is a Moomin. Olly is going to to love it I think. As will I.
ReplyDeleteooooo i missed the poison recipe post...bummer! this christmas tree forest is an insanely great idea that i love! x
ReplyDeleteI so love pinecones and cant wait to scatter mine all over the house in a couple of weeks. I can completely see how this is for Olly's benefit and not yours!! Its a very pretty display! xoxo
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I totally love this idea ... I'd do this and I don't have an Olly, my youngest is now 6ft tall.
ReplyDeletePlease tell what the berries were, I'm intrigued :)
That's a great idea it looks so effective. (I missed your previous post too.)

Ooh I do like this idea Leanne and I will believe you that its for Olly's benefit!! I wonder what you will be able to gather to display by the end of the month?
ReplyDeleteAh, so that's what you meant! You're definitely not an idiot.
ReplyDeleteI think this is the most enchanting idea. I love how you can add to it little by little over the coming weeks. So simple and lovely. x
