The Light Of St Ives

This morning in St Ives, the colours of the land, sea and sky are magnificent. A photograph cannot do it justice. I wish you could all see it for yourselves. Bands of colour, one merging into the other. The colours are not so bright, they are just bright enough. Everything is sharp and clear.

That's me in the corner...

The sea looks like a millpond.  So serene. Seemingly still and yet ever changing in colour and form. The sea cradles the town. It encircles and defines it. The sea is always in my peripheral vision as I go about my daily business. I must stop and look at it scores of times everyday.

I'm not sure I could live without it anymore.

Back soon.

  5. Oh it is so very beautiful. It must be wonderful to see it in all seasons as well. I spent quite a while banging on about the quality of the light to anyone who would listen when we visited last month. And we spent an hour in the leisure centre car park when our car wouldn't start! It's got such a lovely view, I couldn't think of a better place to be stranded.

  8. Oh, wow. You really do live in one of the most beautiful corners of the country and your photos do a pretty good job of capturing it.

I grew up by the sea and miss it desperately. John doesn't get how important it is for me to be near the sea but one day I'll live on the coast again... xx
