52 Weeks Of Happy - 35/52

Four happy things from my week. As always joining in with Jen

Parmesan

I've been having a bit of a thing for Parmesan lately. It's something to do with making my own sauce with the last of the tomatoes in the greenhouse. A simple sauce, some basil and a liberal grating of Parmesan on top. Happy food.

Bake Off chez 'Today's Stuff'

So the boys do like to help with the baking, although these days I can guarantee arguments over mixing, measuring and scraping. So when we made our Sunshine Shorties, I let them do it. I watched two very different personalities shape their biscuits. Olly flung it on the baking tray, me, the floor..... Alfie took forever shaping his biscuits until they were all uniform and perfect. That's my Alfie. That's why we clash so much. A wry kind of happy.*

Beachcomber Finds

A few of my favourites from this summer. I couldn't believe the heart shaped piece of driftwood. It is exquisite. I love it.

Peacock Suit

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Paul Weller? I've been singing this to myself a lot this week. I heard it on the radio, and it kind of stuck in my head. The Modfather. Enjoy.

That's the happy.

Do any of you love a musician as much as I love Mr Weller? It's a big long time love.

Leanne xx

*I include this as a happy. But it did turn to an unhappy angry Mum shouty fest not long after.

  1. Haha, I have had plenty of adulterated happies during this project too. Baking with children is just so tedious. I don't actually enjoy it very much but it seems like a good idea. I do it with a very tense jaw. :)

  2. You are so very lucky to have a greenhouse, I am so envious! I have two very different, completely opposite children too. One exactly like me, one like my partner. The latter (the eldest) and I butt heads quite a bit, we are so different. The driftwood is indeed wonderful. My littlest like to find things to keep from the beach. He has one called his Beauty Shell! Thank you for your happies Leanne, I need a little cheering today, so I have very much enjoyed them.

  4. Big love for Joni Mitchell in this house, I think she's amazing. That heart shaped piece of driftwood is incredibly beautiful. I love the ridged lines and the colour. x

  5. With you on Paul Weller. Love 'That's Entertainment'. He was on TV last on programme about Punk and looks great. Ageing well. Also thanks for being honest about your happy - sometimes feel my happies create a unrealistic sunny image of my life

  6. Your boys are gorgeous!
I love to bake with my kids but you know our biggest issue is the kids always want to lick the bowl, and I'm always worried about the raw egg in it, but we always have at least one lick and none of us have gotten sick yet! Do you let the boys lick the spoons??
    Have a great weekend,
    Tammy

  7. Great happy photos. I love the beach combing finds, especially the driftwood. The photo of your boys cooking made me smile as my children wanted to bake today but neither could agree on what to make so we ended up making cakes and flapjacks! X
