52 weeks of happy - 6/52

Here already with the happy.

Inspired by Tales From A Happy House. Originated from Little Birdie.

Both lovely blogs. Go and see for yourself.

 A cup of tea

What could be nicer than a cup of tea? From my first cup of tea in the morning sat hunched on the sofa, my eyes not quite open. To the last one before I wend my weary way up to bed. I love tea. Tea has been there through good times and bad times. When I was student there was lots of alcohol, but the best times were sat around with a brew on the go.

The three best cups of tea I have ever had was after the birth of my three children.

New Boots

(Rubbish photograph). My old faithfuls of ten years died over Christmas. I know that nothing lasts forever - especially footwear - but I mourned their loss. How was I ever going to find suitable replacements?  Well I found two! In the sale! They arrived today. I am very pleased with them.

A world of his own

Listening or watching Olly play with his toys, especially now that he is making up stories to go along with the play. Another milestone. His imagination is growing day by day. He is absorbed in this make believe world. I find it so incredible to observe, especially as his speech is becoming clearer every day. He is having so much fun lying on the rug with his cars and trains.

Bookworm

Alfie has always been reluctant to read just for the pleasure of it. That is until he discovered the Beast Quest series of books. Now Alfie is rapt in a world of make believe, and it has also encouraged him to try other books. Of course I am thrilled. I know that reading is one of life's pleasures, but it's great that Alfie has now discovered this too.

Dad

My Dad has been to visit for a couple of days. It's been good. It's a long story, but I have had a difficult internal relationship with him for a number of years. I was anxious about his visit, but it was nice spending time with him. It makes me hopeful that maybe I can start over with him, and let some stuff go.

.....................................

A big thank you for your comments on my previous post. It's a novelty to have anyone comment on anything I post here. It's another happy thing, to think that there are people reading and looking at this little blog. I follow lots of blogs and am so inspired and in awe of all of them. The layout of the blogs, the content, the imagination, the creative talents of them all is jaw-dropping. So the fact that you can be bothered to stop by and just look, let alone leave a comment or a bit of advice, makes me feel good.

Hope you all have a happy week.

  1. I like your blog, don't do it down! You write with warmth and wit and your photographs of your local area are lovely.

I know exactly what you mean about tea, and the cup of tea after childbirth. I had a c-section for my second and that cup of tea still tasted just as good!
